Terms of Service

Welcome to homies! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the homies mobile app, joinhomies.app, and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using homies, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 17 years old.
• You must be able to form a binding contract under applicable law.
• You agree to use homies only for lawful purposes.

2. Your account

2.1 Registration

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account.

2.2 Your house

homies is shared software. When you create or join a house, certain information — expenses, chores, balances, and feed activity — is visible to other members of that house. You're responsible for who you invite.

3. The Service

homies helps roommates split expenses, track chores, and communicate. homies does not move money. Balances and "settle up" links are records and conveniences only — actual payments happen through third parties like Venmo or Cash App, or in person. homies is not a payment processor, bank, or money-transmission service, and is not responsible for transactions between roommates.

4. homies+ subscriptions

• homies+ is an optional subscription billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
• It is billed per household: one member subscribes and the whole house receives the features. The cost may be logged as a shared expense within the app.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play settings; access continues until the end of the paid period.
• All purchases are subject to the terms of the applicable app store.

5. AI features

homie.ai generates suggestions, drafts, polls, and summaries. AI output can be wrong or incomplete and is provided for convenience only — it is not financial, legal, or professional advice. You're responsible for decisions you make using it.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use homies for any unlawful, harassing, or abusive purpose.
• Attempt to access accounts or houses you're not a member of.
• Disrupt, reverse-engineer, or abuse the Service or its infrastructure.
• Upload content that infringes others' rights or violates the law.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe create risk for other users.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that balances, splits, or AI outputs are error-free, or that the Service will be uninterrupted.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, homies and its affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any disputes, debts, or payments between roommates. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
